Rebekah recieves all her mail through the pouch system. (Which basically means you send it to Salt Lake and they send it to the mission.) It is safer and more efficient that way. She would love to hear from you! You can only send a 1 page letter, folded in thirds and closed with 1 piece of tape. (No Envelope) Stamp and address the letter as you would an envelope and send it to:

Sister Rebekah Pauliene Finch

Elder Finch: November 30th

Hello guys, how is it going?

I like South Carolina a lot. It is very peaceful here. Apparently winters are very late here, so it wont get really cold until the end of January.

My last flight went well, it was in one of the smaller jets. They have four seats to a row when the bigger ones have six. The last flight to longer to load, take off, land, and unload then it did for the actual flight.

My new companion's name is Elder Urry. He and one of the other missionaries in my apartment are the zone leaders. Zone leaders are normally a companionship, but not this time. Don't send me letters to this address, but this is the address of our current apartment: 715 Welcome Ave. #78, Greenville SC 29611. You can google map me if you want.

In my apartment there's four of us, two Spanish, two English. Two of us are new, and the other is English, so I am not the newest. I am in a car area, which I like for the winter, at least. Summer, I want a bike. I did get my new bike. It is way nice.

President McConkie is way nice, and his wife is almost as good a cook as Mom, in other words, Tuesday (while I was still in the mission home) I had a great breakfast.

Surprisingly, we actually have a Spanish branch in our area. That is where we go for church. There's a total of 120 members in that branch, and about 80 of them show up each week. We have Sacrament first, at 12:30, then at 2:00 the next ward shows up. The Spanish children go to Primary with the English ward. Most of the children speak English better than Spanish.

For Thanksgiving, we went to a member's house. The food was pretty good, I missed scalped potatoes and Boston cream pie, but I guess I would have missed that at home too.

Missionary work is a lot different then I imagined. It's really exciting talking with people about the gospel. It is kind of hard in Spanish, but that will change in time. At first, I could not understand them at all, but now I can pretty well.

There are two new investigators that we got this week that I am really excited for. Their names are Lesly and Marcella.

Lesly is ten years old. She has a friend that is a member. Apparently, several months ago her mother was being taught. Things went well for her, but her husband does not want to get married so she can't get baptized till that happens. Last week, we just went by to check on how she is doing, and started teaching her and Lesly. We gave Lesly a Book of Mormon on Thursday, and on Sunday she was already half way through 1 Nephi chapter 3. She did not come to church on Sunday because she got scared, but she is excited to go next week. Her mom seems excited for her, and this week, when the Spirit directs, we will send her a baptismal commitment.

Marcella is a mom of 3. Some time ago, she was somewhere where someone was giving a speech, (I don't know where.) They said, "In order to know...you need to pray to God, and God will give you an answer. It might come right away, or it might take a while, but it will come." I wonder if this person was Mormon. Marcella told us that for some reason, that stuck with her and would not leave. She told us that ever sense then, she has been praying to know if her church was true, and if not to know which one is. She is way open to everything we say, and says it all makes sense.

Anyway, I am almost out of time, but that is a little taste of the sweet parts of missionary work. I defiantly think both of them were prepared to receive the gospel and I have high hopes for them.

E-mail is probably a better way yo send mail out in the field.

Until next time.
Love you guys.
