To Write Rebekah

Rebekah recieves all her mail through the pouch system. (Which basically means you send it to Salt Lake and they send it to the mission.) It is safer and more efficient that way. She would love to hear from you! You can only send a 1 page letter, folded in thirds and closed with 1 piece of tape. (No Envelope) Stamp and address the letter as you would an envelope and send it to:

Sister Rebekah Pauliene Finch
Guatamela Quetzaltenango Mission
POB 30150
Salt Lake City, UT 84130-0150

If you want to send something directly to the Mission Office, they can get it to her. (Cards, packages)

Elder Finch: February 1st

I have experienced my first Ice Storm.

They are pretty intense.

They're about equally as dangerous as a blizzard. What happens in them, is the ground level air is below freezing, the air up in the sky is below freezing, but the air in between is above. So, when the snow comes down it starts to melt, but then instantly freezes when it touches the ground.

Every thing was cover in a half inch of ice. The chain link fences looked really cool. The thin wire part was about 1" in diameter because of the ice. A couple phone wires and trees got pulled down because of this. When it all melts it gets dangerous to, because there's just tones of ice falling from trees and cables and other things like this. On Saturday we had to walk everywhere because it was too dangerous to drive or ride bikes. All the ice melted yesterday.

I decided to try something new for exercise. There's this thing called "The Perfect Push up". It's basically two rotating handles. They work a lot more muscles than regular push ups, and are a lot softer on the bones. I do about eighty push ups a day right now. I do them in two minute sets. In one period of two minuets I do 8-6-4-2. I do two sets regular, one wide, and one close. I weigh 125 right now. I was stuck at 123 for a long time. I just started doing this workout about a week ago.

Every morning for breakfast Elder Hanson and I eat German Pancakes. Elder Urry and Elder Poll don't like them. We eat on whole batch between the two of us every day.

Starting last Monday we are buying eggs by the 5 dozen. We only have eight eggs left now. Good thing we can by more eggs today. In one week I have eaten 24 eggs.

Lunch I usually have Spaghetti with just Parmesan. This drives Elder Urry crazy.

Dinner varies a lot. My favorite place to go out to eat when we do, is Zaxbees.

Something funny. Yesterday church was canceled even though all the roads were dry by Saturday night.

We will have to wait another week to get Sonya Baptised. She is growing very strong in the Gospel.

Renee is getting really close to baptism too. He already has been to church twice. He just got an ID from El Salvador and will be getting married soon. Hopefully this week.

The people from Guatemala vary more than any other Hispanic nation. They have as Rebekah said, three different languages. They also have around eighty different dialects, or so I have been told. They also vary in size and looks a lot. Both the tallest and smallest Hispanics I have taught were from Guatemala. They are a very kind people all in all.

I do not think you can send me a DVD. I'll need to get special permission from President McConkie for that. I'll ask him during interviews.

I am excited for the package you are sending.

Almost every Monday I play Settlers of Zerahemla. (the LDS version of Settlers of Catan.) On P-days we can play board games as long as their appropriate. All the games we have at home are ok.

I guess that this is all I have to talk about for now. I love you guys.

Love Elder Finch
