Last week we had many service opportunities. On Wednesday we got a call from the mission office telling us that they got a call from a member that lives in Georgia. Her cousin and her cousin’s husband and two children got in a car crash. The husband broke just his arm in the crash, the wife was in pretty bad condition, and the two children died. We went to the hospital to give them a blessing, and teach them about the Plan of Salvation. (They aren’t Members) By the time we left, they were looking a lot happier. They had a new hope.
We also gave another non-member a blessing yesterday. She was feeling sick. Apparently she is having problems with her heart. This morning we took her to the hospital with one of the Members. She has two appointment today to have her heart looked at.
Probably my favorite act of service we hade last week was on Tuesday. Elder Vallejo was on an exchange with the Zone Leaders, so it was just Elder Gooch and I. We saw a Hispanic lady outside her trailer with her 2 year old son, trying to set up an old dome tent. We went over and started talking to her, while helping her set up her tent. She told us she always had the dream of going camping. She had found the tent on the side of the street earlier that day. The string in one of the poles was broken, so I think someone was tossing it out. Her husband went to the store to buy marshmallows. It made me miss camping. Her Husband got back just as we finished setting up the tent. We talked a little about the gospel and set up a return appointment for tonight. I am really excited to teach them again.
