Something I have realized lately is when you start having success, a lot of stumbling blocks seem to suddenly pop up. The Lopez family (tent family) is getting close to baptism. On Friday we were getting ready to ride our bikes over to their house to teach them, but then we saw that Elder Gooche’s tire was flat. For some reason we weren’t able to get his tire off his bike to fix it. I even tried using my bike tools, but they would just bend instead of pulling the tire off. So we decided we would have to drive, but then the car wouldn't start. Apparently the heat killed the battery. Later on in that day Elder Gooch got a parasite in his stomach. We think it was from some meet a member gave us. On Saturday we took our car to get it fixed. That went well for the most part, but we still couldn’t get to work because Elder Gooch was really sick. On Sunday we went to church, and there were only 20 members at church counting the 4 missionaries. We went home early and called the mission doctor. That was when we found out that Elder Gooch had a parasite. The doctor told him he had to starve it off, basically by going on a 48 hour fast, with only drinking water. Luckily our luck started turning around. The Lopez family showed up yesterday to play soccer with us. They have a 15 year old son who said he wanted to play with us. After playing soccer, we gave them a church tour. We showed them the baptismal font and several other rooms. Allowing investigators to see the baptismal font helps them a lot.
I got the package you sent in the mail on Friday. It always seems like mail is timed to come on bad days. That was defiantly the highlight of the day. I have already made a batch of brownies and cookies. They were good. I really like all the CDs you guys sent us. I found a cool new way to do bread in my bread maker. I put all the ingredients in and let the bread maker knead it and let it rise for a while, then I take the dough out and put it in bread pans. It is still almost as easy, but tastes a lot better.
We had zone conference last week. President wants us all to work harder. I love the opportunity to work harder. I just really want to bring people closer to Christ. I love you all!

Rebekah recieves all her mail through the pouch system. (Which basically means you send it to Salt Lake and they send it to the mission.) It is safer and more efficient that way.
