(No Envelope) Stamp and address the letter as you would an envelope and send it to:

Rebekah Shucking Corn Nov 9

On Saturday we went to help the Bishop husk a ton of corn! He has a field out somewhere. They leave the corn on the stalk for a while too long so that it dries out, then it's husked and laid out to dry in the sun for 20 days. From there, they cut the kernels off and hand grind them. Then they add a little bit of water to the corn flour and make tortillas out of it. Whew, it's quite a process. It was fun to help for a bit. If we're still here in 20 days I think we'll get to help finish too. I love doing these kinds of things. This area (Bolivar) is a lot more city then San Fransico was, so it's nice to get my hand on a little bit of nature again. The Bishop asked me if I'd ever worked on a farm before and he was surprised that I said no - it's just such a common thing here, and considering I would like to have a tiny little farm someday...
One of the pictures is of me with the bright orange/yellow corn, and behind me there are bags of corn.
The picture with the funny corn is the Bishop. That corn grew that way and I thought it was funny, so we took a picture. The Bishop is incredible. He's the best Bishop in the avenue of missionary work that I've had so far.
The other picture is of my companion, Hermana Hunt. She's from Salt Lake, about to turn 24, studying Literature at Utah State. We get along well. I actually miss Hermana Hernandez a little bit though. She wrote me an e-mail today telling me she misses me tons and thanking me for everything. It was so nice of her!
