McDonnald's Is Not So Bad After All

Hey Family!
This week has been very good! Time has been flying here. I feel like I just got to Bolivar yesterday and it’s almost been three months. The missionaries that are returning home this week leave on Thursday and the new ones will be coming next week (right before Christmas – that would be hard.) So some of the transfers will happen this week, and some the following. Hermana Hunt is going to Momos. I’m SO excited for her. That’s going to be the perfect way for her to end her mission. She only has three months left. That’s so weird. We were together when she hit her year mark.
I saw Hemana McGaughy today. She’s doing really well. She gave me a nice Christmas present and it was fun to say bye to her. I’m glad she lives close and we’ll always be friends. I think we’ll take a class together in the fall. She wants to take basketball. She’ll stop by sometime after Christmas. Just be super full of joy. She’s awesome, and thanks to her I LOVE the mission!
We put three baptism dates this week, but then they all dropped, that was a bummer. But we’ve started teaching a complete family! YAY! There’s a mom and a dad (who is super positive) and they have three children – 13, 8, and 1.) I could really use you prayers LOTS for them. I REALLY want them to get baptized and I know that Heavenly Father is a God of miracles. The dad’s name is Ranferi and the mom’s is Elizabeth. We’re teaching them again Saturday morning (he works a lot.)

We got permission to eat at McDonalds for baptizing a family. It was amazing! Sick – huh? Who would’ve thought I would love McDonalds? It was just so clean and the food tasted so American. It was weird, I thought we were in the states for a minute.
WOW!!! That package you sent is AMAZING!!! Those supplies are going to make a huge difference! Also, I LOVE having my stocking! I’m so excited for Christmas. JThe other day we ate with one of the wealthier families in our area and they fed us shrimp…but completely intact. We had to rip off the antennas, legs and head. It was kind of gross. The head still had eyes in it. And then there was a little head that was hidden in my rice and I didn’t see it. Yes, I ate it. It was sick. I have eyeballs in my stomach now. I don’t want to eat shrimp again for a long time. I’ve heard rumors that we’re not supposed to eat seafood in the mission. Most people say that’s not a rule in our mission, but I think I’ve decided that it is now. : ) And then we went to an appointment and the mom was preparing lunch for the next day. She asked us if we wanted to help her “peel ducks” and told us she just had a few feathers left.
I have such a testimony of this work. I’ve seen so many miracles and know that there are angels working right here with me. I feel like Heaven is so close. I know that Christ lives and that this is the one true church. I know we have a living prophet. I know God hears and answers my prayers. I believe in personal revelation and daily inspiration.
I love you all! I’m super excited for Christmas! I think this will be one of the best ever. Good luck with finals! Call you next Saturday! (Let me know what time will be good to call, and what time Daniel’s calling. I have permission to call him, but haven't heard if he has permission too. If he calls you first, will you ask him and find out when I can call him and what his number is in case he hasn't answered by then? Thanks! And I can call anytime after six Christmas Eve and anytime Christmas day, just let me know. I wont have much time,so there should just be immediate family there.)

Love,
Rebekah
