It has been a hard week not seeing the G family. I can't wait to talk to them again. That should be in about two weeks. Right now we are teaching someone named Gu. He is 17 years old. He speaks perfect English and Spanish. We hope to get him to church this Sunday. He has been tought pretty much everything. He loves the Book of Mormon, especially the "Guide for Studying the Scriptures" in the back. I don't remember what it is called in English, so I just put what it is called in Spanish translated. He loves piking a random topic like prayer. Then he looks up all the scriptures about that subjuct. It is fun to see his great joy in learning the Gospel.
I learned something this past week. I was studing about the plan of Salvation, and comparing it to what other churches believe, (because most false doctrins comes from true ones, and have many truths in them.) I relized that some churches believe in things very similer, but are just missing the pre earth life, and the Celestial Kingdom. They believe that in heaven, We are with Christ, but not God, and that Families, as existed on earth don't exist in heaven. They believe you are just up there, doing nothing, in a constant state of joy. Their belief of heaven is almost exactly like what we know about the terrestrial kingdom. I found an interesting truth in this. If they don't repent, and be baptized into Christ's church either in this life or the next, their vew of heaven concerning them is right, because they won't be able to go to the Celestrial kingdom.
President McConkie is changing a lot of the rules. He is getting a lot stricter. I think this is a good thing. Some of the new rules are no more board games, no toys, only pictures of Christ, Scripture storys and families allowed on the walls, And many other things like that. It is tough, but I want to be a good missionary, so I am going to be 100% supportive.
I was wondering if I could get a bread recipie, and a pizza dough recipie. I would like that a lot.
I love you all.
Elder Finch.
