I love you so much mom. I got the Pumpkin Muffins on Wednesday. They were really good, and made me wish I was home, but I am suppose to be here, and happy here. General Conference was great. I really enjoyed it a lot. I had so many favorite talks. It felt really short this time. I feel like I still have 4 more sessions to go to. My favorite part of General Conference was when I got to watch all the missionaries in the MTC. The all look very young to me. Brand-new and fresh in the mission. I remember when I was there.
My favorite Talk was President Ukdorfs talk on simplicity, and focusing on the fundamentals. I learned two strong lessons in that talk. The first one the importance of teaching simply, and focusing on the fundamental doctrines. The other was not so obvious. At first when I was listening to his talk, I was thinking, ya it is important to focus on the fundamentals, but I wasn't really noticing that I needed to focus on the fundamentals more. Half way through his talk, he lost his voice, and started talking a little. This scared me a little, so a paid close attention. He joking remarked, “I lost my voice. That is one of the fundamental things to this talk.” That is when the first thing I learned finally hit me, and sunk in. The second lesson, is that sometimes when we are listening to peoples talks, we agree with it, and pay attention, but let the message pass over ourselves. We tell our selves, I don't really need to here that, this talk is being spoken for someone else. If we take everything sail, as if it is literally spoken right to our sole, It can have a much grater impact on changing us for the better.
Unfortunately none of our investigators came to church. We had several that said they would, but I guess stuff showed up to stop them. We already got commitment from a lot of them to come to church next week. We are still teaching Liliana. She is accepting the Gospel of Christ very well. We extended a baptismal date, and even before we finished asking if she wanted to be baptized, she said yes. She is getting baptized no later than the 30th of October. Possible the week before.
I am running out of time. I want all of you to know, I love you very much, and I love all the Emails you send me. They are almost always the highlight of my week.
