Foosball in Guatemala and Power from Scripture Study

Hey Family!!!!

This week has been probably the most memorable week of my mission. I am so happy here. Unfortunately I only have fifteen minutes to write, but I'll try to write the family a letter today about some of the things that have happened this week. If not, you'll just have to read my journal when I get home.

We had an Hermana's conference that lasted three days!! It was so long, and so wonderful! The best thing happened, Presidente asked all of the Hermanas if anyone knew how to play foosball. I didn't know the word in Spanish, but I had a feeling it was something I knew how to do. Oh man, I wish you could have seen us play! Presidente is SO GOOD at foosball. We were laughing and smiling the whole time! First we played 2 out of 3....and I won! He said I'm the first person that's ever beat him. He was shocked. Then we went to 3 out of 5 and I won again. It was SO much fun. We decided to go best out of 9, and finally President Lorenzana won. 5 to 4. It was so so fun. We probably would have kept going, but I finally realized that we have the same weakness, when we're doing something we like, we never want to stop. We played for a good hour and a half and laughed the whole time! The next day Presidente called me up for a rematch. He came to pick me up and then he creamed me. But he credited it to his calling. :) Then he had me play against a couple of the assistants and I beat all of them easy-peasy. They were shocked and humiliated. Presidente said he'd call me to be the next AP. :D Too bad that's not an option, but he said I could expect frequent re-matches. All the games were won by just one point. He's the best person I've ever played against. :D

Presidente taught me how to improve my scripture study and I feel like I am literally talking with the Lord now as I read. I love the Book of Mormon so much! I know that it is true, Every word is the word of God. I have found answers to every single one of my questions in this Book and feel like my Heavenly Father is literally sitting right in front of me talking to me. I love this gospel. I love this mission. I wish I could be here forever. This is the most beautiful gift from God, to be a missionary and representative of Christ.

I love you all lots! You are in my prayers always!

Love,
Rebekah
